Our History
Schmedeke Lawn LLC began with a lawn mower, a strong work ethic, and an opportunity. At just 14 years old, Brian started mowing a neighbor’s yard. Not long afterward, his grandfather offered to pass along the approximately ten properties he maintained in Morrisonville. Brian accepted the opportunity, laying the foundation for what would eventually become Schmedeke Lawn LLC.
Before Brian was old enough to drive, his mother or brother would take him into town and drop him off with his riding mower and a trailer carrying a push mower and weed eater. When Brian was a freshman in high school, his brother, Duane, also helped him mow several properties. When he could no longer rely on others for transportation, he found another way—hitching one of his father’s tractors to the trailer and driving himself into town until he was old enough to get his driver’s license.
Brian’s reputation for dependable, quality work spread quickly. By age 17, he was caring for approximately 40 lawns while completing his junior and senior years of high school. After graduation, he continued growing the business, expanding its services and building the trusted lawn care and landscaping company Schmedeke Lawn LLC is today.
